Bimetallic coating Bimetallic coating technology is applied to new screw or to screw which is required to be revised. The lifetime of the screws is increased by this coating which is made using different methods. The main feature of bimetallic barrels is to provide high abrasion resistance. Bimetallic barrels lifetime is 3 to 5 times longer than standard nitration barrels. Apart from that, bimetallic barrels should be used for the use of magic materials that may cause exclusive wear, such as high filler CaCO3 or fiberglass. Also, bimetallic barrels should be preferred for high speed extruders with high capacity. Looking at the price performance, it will be seen that the bimetallic barrels are much more economical.
Heat treatment One of the most important factors determining the service life of the screw and barrel is the correct heat treatment technology. The most precise heat treatment that can be applied to screws and barrels made of nitrided steel is gas nitriding. This is the coating used on the screws and barrels supplied by us.
